You Want Me to Put WHAT? Where?

In my quarter of a century living on this planet, I thought I'd heard just about everything that had to do with birth control and menstruation. Little did I know, there was something that disappeared years ago and is making a comeback - the menstrual cup.

This little contraption replaces tampons and those awful diapers we call pads. On a normal flow, it can last for 12 - count 'em twelve hours. The way it works is that you put it up inside you and it sits low so it doesn't touch your cervix. The cup forms a type of suction and collects all that nastiness. Apparently, during this whole process, you don't feel it at all. All for the low, low price of $35!

Personally, I'm a little skeptical, but I must say, I'm intrigued. The idea of never buying tampons, pads or anything ever again just by paying $35 once is very enticing.

Have any of you tried it? What do you think of it? Would you try it?

Ooh intriguing! Keep us posted on that one, I'll def be a user if it's as good as it sounds.

Glad you're back!

Interesting...yes! But, how messy is it really? Isn't it rediculous how much tampons and pads are costing these days? Definately a cheaper alternative.

and then you....wash and reuse it...? I'm with Lacey Jo...is it messy? (although, in general, friggin' periods are messy...ew).

keep us updated. I'D sure be interested!!

Ew. I don't like the thought of it all collecting in a cup like that. You pull it out and poor it out? Yuck-o. *shudder*
How can you not feel it? Yes, interesting and I'd love for you to try it out and let us all know. haha

How in the...hmm, not sure how fast I'd jump on that bandwagon. I'll stick to tampons. Interesting concept, though.

I'm old enough to remember - long before The Pill - when birth control for many meant putting a cup slathered in spermacide inside yourself - and then hoping. Seems like a similar system - except it collects instead of being a barrier.

I'm pretty sceptical as well... it's called the moon cup over here.
It's worth a try.. when u do, let me know if it's secure.. :)
If it works, it'll be a good money saver.

Erm, I don't know how I feel about "collecting" that gunk. It's a gross process no matter what you use and I'm always glad to be done and much cleaner for the next three weeks. Updates please, I'd like to know how this thingy works.

Um....I am in shock. I don't understand how you could stick this in your who who and not know it's there?!!? This just seems a little nasty!
