Tears At Work (I'm THAT Girl)

Can I just say thank you to Charlee, Rosemarie, Jamie, Ruggy, Classy in Philly and Lolita? I love you with all my heart! The response time was immediate and I just checked my post from work and my heart just exploded! You guys are amazing and I especially want to give *hugs and kisses* to Rosie and Classy in Philly for always ALWAYS give me your love and 2 cents.

God didn't take this man away from me to punish me. God took him away from me to give me something so much better.

I cried when I read this at work...

"The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box.

'Oh mommy please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please?'

Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face.

'A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma.'

As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace.

Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere, Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble bath . Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green.

Jenny had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. One night as he finished the story, he asked Jenny, 'Do you love me?'

'Oh yes, daddy. You know that I love you.'

'Then give me your pearls.'

'Oh, daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess, the white horse from my collection, the one with the pink tail. Remember, daddy? The one you gave me. She's my very favorite.'

'That's okay, Honey, daddy loves you. Good night.'
And he brushed her cheek with a kiss.

About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, 'Do you love me?'

'Daddy, you know I love you.'

'Then give me your pearls..'

'Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll . The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper.'

'That's okay. Sleep well... God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you'

And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss.

A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian style...

As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek.

'What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?'

Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy.. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace . With a little quiver, she finally said, 'Here, daddy; this is for you.'

With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny.

He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine treasure. So it is, with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures.

God will never take away something without giving you something better in its place. "

Tears. Brought me to tears. I guess it just goes to show, that there is a silver lining. You just have to have faith.

I love this story. I just bookmarked it so I can read it when I'm sad.

It's so true. God really does take things away to give us better.

It's hard to believe, especially after a bad breakup. I still don't understand why my ex and I broke up in August and my heart still breaks everyday, including today when I saw a picture of him and his new whore-ish girlfriend who pretty much stole him from me.

But, I'm still going to believe..because if he was the best that was out there? That's sad. I know there is better, and you know that yoo!

You are seriously so beautiful and witty, any guy would love you.

Keep that chin up, lovely

Oh, and one more thing! About the title of your post, don't worry I was that girl too. My ex broke up with me when I was a full time lifeguard in the summer, I went to work crying, cried all day and went home and cried some more. It was a bit ridic. After awhile I didn't even care if my co-workers thought I was weird..I was seriously just that heartbroken. It's okay to cry :) everyone understands heartbreak

Hey, what are Best-Friend-Bloggers for! :)

Can I just say that crying is not a bad thing. You need to cry. And when you're finished, you'll feel better. You'll feel a "Ah", *Sigh* of relief. You'll take a deep breath, wipe away the tears and move forward.

It's hard not to want to lock yourself in your room and close out the rest of the world. And it's okay to do that for a day or two, BUT NO MORE!

He's not worth it! You'd look back at those days and say, "What a waste!" You could have spent those days enjoying life, family, friends, blogger girlfriends! :)

When you get home:
1. Make up off
2. Shower
3. Comfy-ass-PJ's ON!
4. Dinner

Love ya girlie!

Hey girl, I am so sorry that I wasn't there for you on your last post. I was so busy. I am so sorry to hear that you two have broken up. It hurts so much and you are gorgeous and fabulous and will meet someone else. A book that I recommend is "It's Called A Break Up Because It's Broken". It really opened my eyes. I hope you can get together with some great friends and just have a girls night. I'm here for you if you need anything.

sounds like how i felt before i first started online dating...except he cheated!!

i was totally scared of being alone as well, and i will tell you i learned so much about who i am, what i want from someone and what i will not settle for...take some time to figure out what you want and learn about yourself - this includes dating when u are ready...time will heal things and you will grow - and your friends will always be there for you!!

oh, honey I'm so sorry. I was that girl too. Take care of yourself and just know that eventually it won't hurt so much, and someday you will find that man who deserves you and you'll be blissfully happy. Love and hugs!

This is really good, It brought me to tears as well :( Yes, I believe you will get better things in the future for what you lost and what you gave up. You just need to give it a time. And don't worry about crying in the office thing, I do it too.

Aw, glad to hear you liked my advice!
I love this story! It's so easy to just wallow and be down about things, but there is always a brighter side. It is just so hard to remember sometimes.

I LOVE the moral of this story. Extremely uplifting!
